WEST PALM BEACH: US President Donald Trump has warned that the United States could launch fresh military strikes against Iran as early as Sunday, October 25, while leaving open the possibility of a negotiated agreement with Tehran.
Speaking to reporters in West Palm Beach, Florida, on Saturday, Trump declined to confirm whether an attack was imminent.
“We’re thinking about doing it, and maybe tomorrow,” he said when asked about the timing of a possible military operation.
Trump said Washington could either resume military action or reach an agreement with Iran, but questioned whether Tehran would honour any deal.
“I may have to finish it off, or maybe they’ll make a deal,” he said, adding that he believed the United States would prevail under either scenario.
His remarks came amid heightened uncertainty over the prospects for renewed military action and diplomatic efforts between Washington and Tehran.
