Balochistan Anti-Corruption Body Summons Irrigation Minister’s Son

QUETTA: The Balochistan Anti-Corruption Establishment has summoned Bilal Umrani, son of Provincial Irrigation Minister Mir Muhammad Sadiq Umrani, as part of an investigation into alleged irregularities involving the Irrigation Department’s development and non-development funds.

According to a call-up notice issued under Section 160 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), 1898, Bilal Umrani, who serves as chairman of the Market Committee in Naseerabad, has been directed to appear before the inquiry officer on October 20, 2026, at 11:30am.

The notice states that the investigation concerns allegations of embezzlement, corrupt practices and misuse of authority by officers and officials associated with Balochistan’s Canal Irrigation System.

Bilal Umrani has been asked to appear at the establishment’s Circle Office in Railway Housing Society on Joint Road, Quetta, to assist with the inquiry. The notice also warns that failure to comply with the summons may lead to legal consequences.

The allegations remain under investigation, and the summons does not establish wrongdoing by the individuals concerned.
