At least five workers were killed and 10 others seriously injured after a boiler exploded at a private pharmaceutical company in India’s southern state of Andhra Pradesh, according to local media.
The explosion occurred at a facility in Sri City, an integrated business hub and special economic zone in the state, broadcaster NDTV reported.
Emergency and rescue teams were dispatched to the site following the blast, with the injured receiving medical attention.
The cause of the boiler explosion was not immediately known, and further details about the circumstances surrounding the incident were awaited.
Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha is expected to visit the site following the deadly explosion.
