Apple Music Officially Launches in Pakistan 11 Years After Global Debut

Jarida Report

Apple Music has officially become available in Pakistan, giving local listeners access to the streaming service more than a decade after its global launch.

Apple updated its Availability of Apple Media Services listing on Wednesday to include Pakistan among countries where Apple Music is supported.

The music streaming service was originally launched in 2015, initially reaching more than 100 countries, but Pakistan was not included in its earlier rollouts.

Pakistani users can now subscribe directly through the Apple Music app. The Individual plan costs Rs379 per month, while the Family plan is priced at Rs649 per month and allows access for multiple users. Both subscriptions include a one-month free trial before automatically renewing each month.

However, Apple Music Classical, Apple’s separate streaming service dedicated to classical music, is not yet available in Pakistan.

Apple Music’s arrival also gives Pakistani listeners another major alternative to Spotify. Spotify launched internationally in 2008 but did not officially enter the Pakistani market until 2021, around 13 years later.

Before Apple Music’s official availability, some Pakistani listeners relied on foreign accounts or changed their account regions to access the service.

With the launch, users in Pakistan can now subscribe locally, bringing greater competition and choice to the country’s growing music-streaming market.
