PSX Extends Rebound, KSE-100 Gains More Than 1,800 Points

Jarida Report

The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) continued its recovery on Friday, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index gaining more than 1,800 points during morning trading as improving sentiment encouraged fresh buying.

Before trading was suspended for Friday prayers, the index stood at 170,865.77, up 1,822.58 points, or 1.08%, from the previous close of 169,043.19.

The KSE-100 reached an intraday high of 170,903.94 and a low of 169,399.98. Trading volume in index stocks amounted to 82.04 million shares, with their value reaching approximately Rs6.70 billion.

Friday’s advance extended the recovery seen a day earlier, when the benchmark gained 1,021 points.

Investor sentiment has improved amid declining international crude oil prices and indications of possible de-escalation in the US-Iran conflict.

On Friday, a further drop in oil prices, coupled with reduced concerns about potential disruptions to Saudi oil supplies, helped sustain buying interest across a broad range of sectors.
