Mandi Bahauddin Police have arrested a man accused of sexually assaulting a nine-month-old girl in the Sohawa Bolani area of Mandi Bahauddin, officials said.
The case was registered at the Civil Lines police station following a complaint from the infant’s father, Younis, who works for a local landowner.
According to the complaint, the suspect, identified by the initials JS and said to be a resident of Rajanpur, allegedly assaulted the infant at the family’s residence while her mother was away at work.
The father told police that the suspect fled when the child’s mother returned. The infant was found injured following the alleged assault.
Police registered a case under Section 376(iii) of the Pakistan Penal Code and subsequently arrested the suspect.
Authorities said an investigation into the allegations was underway.
