The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) ended the outgoing trading week in negative territory, with its benchmark KSE-100 index falling 1,325 points to close at 180,104.
The market experienced considerable volatility during the week, with the index moving within a 2,568-point range.
At its strongest point, the KSE-100 climbed to 182,347, while its weekly low stood at 179,778 points.
Despite the decline in the benchmark index, investor activity remained robust. Around 3.41 billion shares were traded during the week, with the value of transactions reaching approximately Rs152 billion.
The market downturn was also reflected in overall valuations. PSX market capitalisation fell by Rs107 billion, ending the week at Rs20.13 trillion.
The weekly figures indicate that although trading volumes remained strong, selling pressure ultimately outweighed gains and pushed the benchmark index lower by the end of the week.
