Pakistan fast bowler Hunain Shah made an encouraging start to his Caribbean Premier League (CPL) career, claiming two wickets for Jamaica Kingsmen in a dramatic final-ball defeat against the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons.
The 22-year-old pacer returned figures of 2-38 from four overs, helping Jamaica keep the pressure on the Falcons as they chased a target of 168 in the opening match of CPL 2026 at the Arnos Vale Ground in St Vincent.
Jamaica had earlier posted 167-7, before the Falcons reached 168-8 from 20 overs to secure a narrow two-wicket victory.
The match went down to the final delivery, with Antigua and Barbuda requiring two runs to win. Hunain bowled a full delivery to Shamar Springer, who drove the ball towards long-on.
A fielding fumble by Rovman Powell allowed the batters to complete the second run and seal a dramatic victory for the Falcons.
While the result denied Jamaica a winning start to their CPL campaign, Hunain’s two-wicket performance marked a promising debut for the young Pakistan fast bowler.
