The investigation into the murder of Mir Raza Ali, owner of the Wafflix dessert chain, has been expanded with the inclusion of a senior official from the Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC), ARY News reported on Monday.
According to an official order, CPLC Assistant Chief CCRC Kashif Iftikhar has been added to the investigation team to provide technical assistance in the high-profile case.
The notification was issued by Additional Inspector General Karachi Range Azad Khan in line with directives from the Karachi police chief.
Officials said the CPLC will provide technical support as investigators continue to gather evidence and pursue multiple leads.
The development follows the recovery of new CCTV footage showing a motorcycle stopping briefly at the location in Gulistan-e-Jauhar where Mir Raza’s body was later found.
According to investigative sources, the motorcycle arrived at the deserted site at around 3:36am on July 29 and remained there for about 22 seconds.
Investigators suspect the victim’s body may have been dumped during that time and are also examining whether those involved later returned to retrieve a weapon.
Police sources further believe the suspects may have discarded the holster of the missing .30-bore pistol alongside the body.
