The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) extended its losses during morning trading on Friday, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index falling 1,264.14 points, or 0.74%, before trading was suspended for the weekly Friday prayer break.
The index stood at 170,475.30 at the time of the suspension, after opening lower and remaining under selling pressure throughout the session.
During intraday trading, the benchmark touched a high of 171,208.55 before slipping to a low of 169,512.88, remaining well below the previous session’s close of 171,739.44.
Trading volume reached 114.23 million shares, while the total value of traded shares stood at Rs7.83 billion.
Market activity was temporarily suspended for the routine Jummah prayer break, with trading scheduled to resume later in the day.
