Jarida Report

The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) rebounded strongly on Friday after two consecutive sessions of losses, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index gaining more than 1,700 points in early trading before the market paused for Friday prayers.

The KSE-100 Index rose to 182,989.51 points, up 1,729.84 points, or 0.95%, from Thursday’s close of 181,259.67. During the session, the benchmark touched an intraday high of 183,477.57 points and a low of 181,880.54 points.

Trading activity remained robust, with 211.35 million shares changing hands and a turnover of Rs16.51 billion. The rally reflected renewed investor optimism following two days of selling pressure, although no specific sector emerged as the primary driver of the gains.

Trading was temporarily suspended in line with routine Friday prayers and is scheduled to resume later in the afternoon.
