A fire broke out on New York City’s Brooklyn Bridge during the Macy’s Independence Day fireworks display on Saturday night, with no injuries immediately reported.
Videos shared on social media showed flames and smoke rising from sections of the bridge as fireworks were launched over the East River.
Authorities had not immediately disclosed the extent of the damage or the cause of the fire.
The incident occurred during Macy’s annual Independence Day celebrations, held as the United States marked the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
