Vawda Urges Dar to Resign Over Allegations Against Grandson

Jarida Report

Senator Faisal Vawda on Friday called on Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar to resign, alleging that the government was being run “like a family corporation” and claiming that serious allegations had emerged against one of Dar’s close relatives.

Speaking at a press conference, Vawda alleged that the relative—whom he described as Dar’s “alleged grandson”—had been accused of bringing foreign women to Pakistan and committing alleged rape, assault and extortion.

He further claimed that the arrest was made following the intervention of a foreign embassy and alleged that efforts were underway to suppress the case.

Vawda also alleged that authorities were attempting to treat the matter solely as an extortion case rather than a rape investigation and claimed there were plans to send the alleged foreign victims back to their home country.

Additionally, he questioned why a statement under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure had not been made public and alleged that favourable medical reports could be obtained.

No evidence was presented by Vawda to substantiate the allegations, and no official response from Ishaq Dar or the government had been issued at the time of reporting.
