Gold prices surged to fresh record highs in both the international and domestic markets on Friday, extending gains for a second consecutive session.
In the international bullion market, gold rose by $122 to $4,185 per ounce.
According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the local price of gold per tola increased by Rs12,200 to Rs440,936, while the price of 10 grams climbed Rs10,459 to Rs378,031.
Silver prices also moved higher, with the price per tola rising Rs319 to Rs6,764, while the rate for 10 grams increased Rs274 to Rs5,799.
The latest rally follows Thursday’s sharp gains, when gold climbed $91 to $4,063 per ounce, pushing domestic prices to Rs428,736 per tola.
