Pakistan, Iran Reaffirm Commitment to Regional Peace Amid Ongoing US-Iran Talks

Pakistan and Iran on Friday reaffirmed their commitment to promoting lasting peace and stability in the region during a telephone conversation between their top diplomats, held as US-Iran peace talks continue despite fresh attacks.

According to a statement issued by Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar told his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi that Pakistan remained committed to playing a constructive role in advancing regional and international peace.

Araghchi thanked Pakistan for its continued support for the peace process and expressed appreciation for Islamabad’s assistance in facilitating the safe repatriation of Iranian crew members and fishermen to Iran.

The two foreign ministers also agreed to remain in close contact as diplomatic efforts continue.
