Israeli Airstrike Kills 3 in Southern Lebanon Despite Ceasefire

Jarida Report

An Israeli airstrike killed three people and injured another in southern Lebanon on Thursday, according to Lebanese state media, despite an ongoing ceasefire between the two sides.

The state-run National News Agency (NNA) said an Israeli drone struck a Honda CR-V on a road linking the towns of Zawtar and Mifdoun in Nabatieh Governorate, resulting in the casualties.

In a separate incident, the agency reported that Israeli forces set fire to several homes in the southern town of Ain Arab after warning residents a day earlier to evacuate.

According to NNA, an Israeli military patrol, accompanied by a D9 bulldozer, entered the town and instructed the mayor to inform residents they had until 5 p.m. local time on Wednesday to leave their homes, warning that the buildings would otherwise be demolished.

Residents had returned to Ain Arab only on Wednesday morning after the Lebanese army reopened the road connecting the town to neighbouring Mari, which had been closed for an extended period, the agency said.
