Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich on Saturday renewed his call for harsh retaliation against attacks launched from Lebanon, saying that 10 buildings in Beirut’s southern suburbs should be destroyed for every rocket fired at Israel.
In a post on X, Smotrich referred to ongoing diplomatic efforts involving the United States and Iran, arguing that Hezbollah should not be allowed to take advantage of the situation to target northern Israel.
He said every rocket or drone attack against Israel should be met with strikes on 10 buildings in Dahiyeh, a stronghold of Hezbollah in the southern outskirts of the Lebanese capital.
Smotrich also called for such action to be carried out “immediately tonight.”
