The federal government has abolished taxes on feminine hygiene products in the Budget 2026-27, providing relief on items related to women’s health.
According to the budget speech, taxes on sanitary pads and other related products have been removed as part of measures aimed at supporting women’s wellbeing.
The government has also eliminated taxes on contraceptive products as part of efforts to promote family planning and address population growth challenges.
In a separate relief measure, the tax on international transactions made through debit and credit cards has been reduced from 5 per cent to 0.5 per cent.
The budget also announced the abolition of Capital Value Tax on foreign assets. The government said the move was intended to encourage Pakistanis to declare overseas financial assets and bring them into the documented economy.
