Trump Suggests US Could Take Control of Key Iranian Oil Facilities, Including Kharg Island

Jarida Report

US President Donald Trump has suggested that the United States could eventually take control of major Iranian oil infrastructure, including Kharg Island, as part of a broader strategy targeting Iran’s energy sector.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump said that “at some point in the not too distant future,” the US would consider “taking Kharg Island, and other oil infrastructure points,” and assuming “total control” of Iran’s oil and gas markets.

Trump compared the proposal to US involvement in Venezuela, claiming it had been “working out brilliantly for both Venezuela and the United States of America,” though he did not provide details to support the assertion.

He also warned that the United States would be “hitting Iran … VERY HARD TONIGHT,” signalling a possible further escalation in tensions between Washington and Tehran.
