The Air Quality Index (AQI) in Lahore has risen to 210, placing the city in the “very unhealthy” category while retaining its position as the most polluted city in the world.
The city’s atmosphere remains highly hazardous to health. Delhi ranked second with an AQI of 152, while Kolkata stood third with 137.
The AQI in Lahore has exceeded the 200 mark, prompting health experts to advise children, elderly people and those suffering from respiratory illnesses to remain indoors.
Kinshasa recorded an AQI of 124, Shanghai 117 and Hanoi 103, placing them among the six most polluted cities in the latest global rankings.
