The Punjab Safe Cities Authority has achieved a major international milestone in the field of artificial intelligence under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s “Digital Punjab” vision.
According to officials, the authority has become Pakistan’s first public sector organisation to receive certification for an Artificial Intelligence Management System.
Punjab Safe Cities Authority secured the ISO/IEC 42001:2023 Artificial Intelligence Management System certification, placing it among a limited number of public sector institutions globally and across South Asia to achieve the distinction.
A spokesperson said the authority developed its complete artificial intelligence infrastructure in-house instead of relying on external companies. Twelve internally developed AI systems successfully met international AI lifecycle standards.
