The death toll of Gul Plaza inferno has reached 10, with 30 injured, 11 of them in precarious condition, and the fate of dozens of trapped persons remains unknown, despite the passage of 32 hours since the fire eruption. Hectic efforts are on to rescue the dozens of trapped people, with little success in retrieving them. Rescue and fire brigade teams have entered the plaza building, which has reduced to ashes. Personnel of Pakistan Navy, Sindh Rangers and Rescue 1122 are making all out efforts to douse the smoldering fire.
Fire Brigade Operational In-charge Zafar Khan has claimed that 80 to 90 percent fire of the shopping mall has been brought under control; heavy smoke hindering the rescue efforts. The plaza building has become dilapidated, prompting extreme cautions for the rescuers to continue with their operation
