A severe cold wave continues to grip Pakistan with heavy snowfall in northern mountainous regions and icy winds sweeping across the plains. In Hunza, the mercury dropped to a freezing minus 21 degrees Celsius, making it the coldest area in the country.
According to an international weather website, the minimum temperature in Hunza was recorded at -20°C, while Quetta saw a low of -1°C early Sunday morning. Other major cities also experienced chilly conditions, with temperatures recorded at 2°C in Islamabad, 3°C in Lahore, 4°C in Peshawar, and 7°C in Karachi. Snowfall over Babusar Top, Nanga Parbat, and other northern areas has intensified the cold and disrupted road connectivity. Temperatures plunged to -21°C in Hunza, -19°C in Astore, -11°C in Chilas, and -8°C in Kalat. Meanwhile, dense fog and freezing temperatures continued to disrupt life in Punjab, with the closure of motorways.
