Pakistan and Libya Reach Agreement to Boost Defence Ties During Field Marshal Asim Munir’s Visit

Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has undertaken an official visit to Libya, where Pakistan and Libya agreed to enhance defence cooperation at the military leadership level. According to ISPR, upon arrival in Libya, Field Marshal Munir was accorded a guard of honour by the Libyan armed forces. During meetings with Field Marshal Khalifa Belqasim Haftar, Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces, the two sides reaffirmed their commitment to expanding defence ties.

Discussions focused on strengthening collaboration in training, capacity building, counter-terrorism, and broader military-to-military cooperation. Both leaders emphasised the importance of close cooperation to support shared strategic and security interests. Pakistan reiterated its commitment to further deepen defence relations with Libya based on mutual goals and regional stability.
