Security forces killed two terrorists and wounded three others during an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan’s Killi Zaik area on Monday, according to security sources.
The operation was launched after intelligence indicated the presence of militants in an area between Killi Zaik and Kaghli, approximately 12 kilometres north of the Baseema camp.
Security personnel encountered the suspected militants during the operation, leading to an exchange of fire in which two were killed and three others sustained injuries, the sources said.
One of those killed was identified by security officials as Mushtaq Ahmed, alias Koh-e-Yar.
Following the operation, security forces recovered ammunition, magazines, hand grenades and materials allegedly intended for the manufacture of improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
Security officials said counterterrorism operations would continue across Balochistan as part of efforts to eliminate militant activity and restore lasting peace in the province.
