Swabi Flood: The floodwater that won’t stop increasingly makes its way across various provinces of Pakistan. As unexpectedly high rainfall levels reach Dalori Bala, a remote mountainous village of Gadoon Amazai in Swabi district, destruction upon destruction is left in its wake. Rescue operations were carried out in hopes of finding the 37 missing people alive. Unfortunately, as the rescue operation comes to an end, the total death toll from under the debris reaches 42.
Deputy Commissioner Swabi Nasrullah Khan confirmed the completion of the operation, citing a report by AAC Topi Dr Usman Khan. He said that with all bodies retrieved, authorities are now shifting focus towards relief and rehabilitation of the affected families. As lives are taken—the disaster annihilates 15 houses entirely, 25 others are in debilitation.
As the water causes soil erosion, land sliding is mercilessly increased. This amalgamation of flood and boulders crashing down cause unparalleled damage.
