On the night of April 10–11, 2025, Pakistani security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Timergara area of Lower Dir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, resulting in the elimination of two terrorists, including a high-value target. The operation targeted members of the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), referred to by the state as “khawarij.” The high-value target, identified as Kharji Hafeezullah alias Kochwan, was involved in numerous terrorist activities against security forces and civilians and had a bounty of Rs10 million on his head. Following the operation, a sanitization process was initiated to eliminate any remaining threats in the area. President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif lauded the security forces for their professionalism and reaffirmed the nation’s commitment to eradicating terrorism.
