A three-year-old child from Pathan Colony, Karachi has tested positive for HIV, with the family alleging the infection resulted from medical negligence during treatment at a private hospital.
According to the parents, the child underwent treatment at Walika Hospital, but his condition continued to worsen. They said an HIV test was later conducted, with three separate testing kits confirming the diagnosis.
The family has accused the hospital of negligence, alleging the child contracted the virus during treatment. However, Walika Hospital and the relevant authorities have not officially confirmed or denied the allegation.
Meanwhile, sources said the number of HIV-positive children in Pathan Colony has risen to 107, with nine children having died from the disease.
