The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has submitted a 27-point plan to the Lahore High Court to ensure an uninterrupted electricity supply and safety measures during the Basant festival. According to LESCO’s report, a Central Control and Command Center will be established at the LESCO headquarters to address electricity-related complaints. In addition, a control room will be set up at the Commissioner’s Office to ensure coordination with the provincial government.
The report further stated that a dedicated control room will be established at the Data Darbar Division to ensure continuous power supply in the Lahore Walled City. Meanwhile, in the Lahore Sub-Division, the electricity complaints helpline 111 will remain fully operational. Meanwhile, the authorities have granted permission to celebrate Basant from February 6 to 8, with the sale of kites and kite strings beginning today.
