Yemeni Army Says 30 Houthi Fighters Killed in Taiz Clashes and Airstrikes

Jarida Report

Yemen’s government forces said on Friday that 30 Houthi fighters were killed and more than 60 others wounded during 24 hours of fighting and airstrikes in Al-Waziyah district, west of Taiz.

A military source cited by the Armed Forces Media Center said the casualties occurred during clashes across several fronts in the district. Yemeni warplanes also targeted Houthi vehicles and gathering points in the area, according to the source.

The casualty figures were reported by the Yemeni military, and no immediate response or independent confirmation was available from the Houthis.

The latest fighting follows a series of government operations around Taiz. The army said earlier that its air force had struck Houthi supply routes and deployment positions in Taiz as well as the Red Sea city of Mocha.

Government forces have also reported repelling Houthi attacks in Taiz and subsequently targeting the group’s positions and reinforcements.

The Yemeni army has intensified operations against Houthi positions across several provinces in recent days, with Taiz emerging as one of the main fronts in the renewed fighting.
