KARACHI: A child was killed after a water tanker hit a motorcycle near North Nazimabad Block N, police said.
The child was travelling with his father when the tanker struck their motorcycle. Following the incident, enraged locals reportedly caught and assaulted the tanker driver and attempted to set the vehicle on fire.
Police detained the driver and moved the tanker to a police station.
The incident comes amid ongoing concerns over heavy vehicles on Karachi’s roads. In a separate case earlier this year, a woman sought more than Rs130 million in compensation after her husband was allegedly killed by a water tanker in March.
