US Offers $100,000 Reward For Pakistani Man In $126m Postage Fraud Case

Jarida Report

WASHINGTON: US authorities are seeking Pakistani national Faheem Akram over an alleged counterfeit postage scheme that reportedly caused more than $126 million in losses to the US Postal Service.

The US Postal Inspection Service has offered a reward of up to $100,000 for information leading to Akram’s arrest and conviction.

Akram, 33, from Khanewal, was indicted by a federal grand jury in Florida last month.

Prosecutors allege that he operated LabelsBank.com, an unauthorised website that sold counterfeit USPS shipping labels to thousands of customers at prices below official rates.

Authorities have seized the domain and shut down the website as the investigation continues.
