US Immigration denied Sikh Man Medical Care

A 48 year old man, Paramjit Singh, who is a green card holder struggling with a brain tumor and a heart condition has been detained for over 2 months by United States immigration authorities. Paramjit has been living in the US with a green card since 1994, his wife and children are US citizens. Returning from a trip to India, he was detained on 30th July by US immigration and customs enforcement (ICE) officials. They claim two decades old cases for his detention.

His family and lawyer say there are no active cases against him. They accuse immigration officials of delaying his release and that he does not have proper medical care despite his brain tumor and heart condition. “Paramjit Singh is not getting the medical help he needs. He is only getting medical check-ups” Louis Angeles, Paramjit’s lawyer.
