The United States Embassy in Islamabad on Thursday unveiled a “Let Freedom Ring” Liberty Bell exhibition at Lok Virsa Museum and the Pakistan Monument Museum, showcasing artworks by Pakistani artists as part of celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of US independence.
According to a statement issued by the embassy, the exhibition was inaugurated at Lok Virsa Museum by US Chargé d’Affaires Andy Halus and Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture Aurangzeb Khan Khichi.
The initiative was organised by the embassy’s Public Diplomacy Section through its Lincoln Corners network in collaboration with 16 Pakistani artists from across the country.
The embassy said each artist was invited to interpret the theme, “What does freedom mean to me?” The resulting exhibition features 16 individually designed Liberty Bells, each reflecting a Pakistani perspective on the concept of freedom, a principle central to the founding of the United States.
The exhibition will be open to the public from July 23 to 27 at Lok Virsa Museum and the Pakistan Monument Museum, with visitors invited to explore the displays at both venues during the five-day event.
