Ultrasound Report Emerges as Probe Continues Into Missing Infant Controversy

Jarida Report

An ultrasound report belonging to the woman at the centre of a controversy over an allegedly missing newborn has emerged as authorities continue investigating the circumstances surrounding the case.

The ultrasound, conducted on February 6, recorded that the woman had experienced amenorrhea for 13 weeks. It described her uterus as normal in size and structure, measuring 6.9 x 3.6 x 4.1 centimetres, with an endometrial thickness of 1.2 centimetres.

The examination also found an enlarged right ovary with features consistent with polycystic ovaries. However, the findings documented in the report did not confirm a pregnancy.

The hospital administration, meanwhile, has alleged that when the woman arrived for treatment on August 27, she presented a different ultrasound report purportedly dated August 8. Hospital officials claim that document was fraudulent and contained a forged doctor’s signature and hospital logo.

According to the administration, the woman arrived in severe pain and her condition was treated as an emergency. Staff initially relied on the ultrasound report presented to them and proceeded with emergency surgery after her condition reportedly deteriorated.

Hospital officials said that during the procedure doctors discovered that the uterus was much smaller than would be expected in an advanced pregnancy and concluded that the woman was not pregnant. They said her husband was informed and shown the findings during the procedure.

The administration acknowledged that the ultrasound report presented on admission had been accepted without first verifying its authenticity because of the apparent urgency of the patient’s condition.

All medical records relating to the case have now been handed over to a medical board, which is expected to determine the circumstances surrounding the conflicting medical information and treatment provided.

The hospital said it has also provided investigators with the relevant reports and CCTV footage, while maintaining that a definitive account of what occurred should await the medical board’s findings.
