LAKKI MARWAT: A man accused of involvement in the killing of three young cricket players in Lakki Marwat was shot dead during a joint operation by police and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), police said on Monday.
Police identified the suspect as Manzoor, who they said was wanted in seven serious terrorism cases registered with the CTD Bannu Division.
According to police, the operation was conducted in Abdul Khel village following the attack on the cricket players. Manzoor was killed during an exchange of fire, while police took custody of his body.
District Police Officer Sajjad Ahmad Sahibzada confirmed the development and said a search operation was launched to trace other suspected militants in the area.
The three cricket players were allegedly attacked while returning from Shah Hassan Khel in a rickshaw the previous evening. Three players were killed and three others injured in the attack.
The CTD has registered a case and launched an investigation, while search operations are continuing to locate other suspects.
