Suspect in Hafizabad Double Child Murder Drowns While Fleeing Police Custody

A key suspect in the double child murder case in Hafizabad, Punjab, drowned after escaping police custody on June 4, 2025. The two victims were found deceased in a metal trunk in Kassoki village. During interrogation, the suspect admitted to torturing the children with a wooden bat. While being transported to recover the weapon, the suspect managed to remove his handcuffs and leaped from the police vehicle near a canal in Kariala village. Despite police efforts to apprehend him, he jumped into the canal and was later found drowned. An FIR under Section 224 of the Pakistan Penal Code has been registered against the suspect for obstructing lawful apprehension.
