Security forces killed 11 suspected militants in separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, Radio Pakistan reported on Thursday, citing security sources.
The operations were conducted in Bannu and South Waziristan in K-P and Khuzdar district in Balochistan, with weapons and ammunition also recovered.
In Bannu, security forces killed two suspected members of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and recovered weapons and ammunition. A militant hideout was subsequently destroyed with explosives, according to the sources.
Another operation was conducted in the Ladha area of South Waziristan, where five suspected militants were killed. Security forces had reportedly tracked their movements following intelligence information before surrounding the area and launching the operation.
In Sasol, Khuzdar district, four suspected militants were killed in an operation in which security forces used quadcopters to target their positions, the sources said.
The government refers to the TTP as Fitna al-Khawarij, while it uses the term Fitna al-Hindustan for militant groups operating in Balochistan that it accuses of receiving support from India.
According to security sources, the latest actions were part of the ongoing Rad-ul-Fitna-3 counterterrorism campaign, aimed at targeting militant networks and their hideouts.
