Palestinian singer-songwriter Saint Levant has postponed his North American tour until spring 2027 after encountering additional delays in obtaining a US visa.
The artist, whose real name is Marwan Abdelhamid, announced the decision on social media Tuesday, saying he had faced “major US visa issues” for several years.
According to Saint Levant, his latest visa application was initially approved but he was subsequently informed that additional background checks were required. He said the process could take several months.
After consulting his legal team and speaking with Palestinian and Arab artists who had encountered similar difficulties, Saint Levant said his team made the “difficult decision” to move the North American dates to spring 2027.
The postponement is intended to provide sufficient time for the additional visa procedures to be completed before the rescheduled concerts.
Born in Jerusalem, Saint Levant spent his early childhood in the Gaza Strip before his family moved to Amman, Jordan, when he was seven.
He has since built an international following with music combining Arabic, English and French, drawing on hip-hop, R&B and electronic influences. Palestinian identity, heritage and displacement feature prominently in his work.
The visa difficulties affect the North American leg rather than his wider international schedule. Saint Levant is currently due to perform at Volkswagen Arena in Istanbul on December 10 as part of his “Afandi World Tour.”
