The opening day of the Lord’s Test between Pakistan and England is likely to be delayed by rain, with poor weather forecast throughout the day in London.

The weather could also influence Pakistan’s final team selection. The Lord’s pitch had a noticeable covering of grass a day before the match, prompting the team management to consider fielding either four fast bowlers or three pacers alongside a spinner.
A final decision on the bowling combination is expected after another inspection of the surface once the rain stops and the covers are removed.
Pakistan are likely to retain the opening combination of Imam-ul-Haq and Azan Awais.
