Punjab CTD Arrests 54 Terror Suspects, Including Five Alleged RAW Agents

Jarida Report

The Punjab Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) said on Saturday that it had arrested 54 suspected terrorists, including five alleged operatives linked to India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), during intelligence-based operations conducted across the province over the past two months.

According to CTD spokesperson Ali Nawaz, the department carried out 419 intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in various districts of Punjab to counter terrorism threats. During the operations, 422 suspects were questioned, resulting in the arrest of 54 individuals allegedly associated with various proscribed organisations.

The spokesperson said the detainees included individuals whom the CTD claims were linked to India’s intelligence agency, RAW. They were identified as Waris Khan and Danish Ali, who were arrested in Lahore, and Roz Ali Khan, Wilayat Shah and Muhammad Aziz, who were detained in Okara.

Nawaz said the arrests were part of ongoing operations targeting hostile networks, adding that investigations into the suspects and their alleged activities are continuing.
