Lahore: Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) President Arif Saeed has been elected to the Executive Board of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Association (ISSA) for the 2026-2029 term, the POA announced on Saturday.
Saeed was elected as the Regional Representative for Asia and Europe during the 15th ISSA General Assembly held in Taif, Saudi Arabia.
The ISSA comprises 57 member National Olympic Committees, and Saeed’s election gives Pakistan greater representation in the international body’s sports governance structure.
The POA said Saeed’s experience in corporate leadership, sports administration and youth development would contribute to his responsibilities on the ISSA Executive Board.
His new position is also expected to provide opportunities to promote athlete development and welfare, strengthen cooperation among member National Olympic Committees and contribute to the development of sport across ISSA member countries.
Saeed currently also serves as president of the South Asian Olympic Council.
