Several people have been killed in a collision involving a police vehicle and a passenger car near Middlesbrough in northeast England, authorities said on Saturday.
Cleveland Police said the crash occurred at around 3:39am on a main road near the South Bank area, east of Middlesbrough.
“Sadly, the collision has resulted in multiple fatalities,” a police spokesperson said.
Police are working to identify those killed and inform their families.
