Hina Javed’s Family Rejects Fresh Probe, Demands Judicial Commission

Jarida Report

RAWALPINDI: The family of Hina Javed has rejected the police offer to conduct another investigation into her alleged murder, reiterating its demand for a judicial commission to independently examine the case.

Hina’s brother, Fahad Javed, has written to the National Assembly Standing Committee on Interior, expressing the family’s continued lack of confidence in the police investigation and calling for the formation of a judicial commission.

The Ministry of Interior had proposed transferring the investigation to another district. Meanwhile, SSP Investigation Saif Ullah contacted the family and advised it to submit a formal application seeking a fresh probe.

However, the family has maintained that only a judicial commission would address its concerns. Legal teams are reportedly reviewing the family’s demands, while officials have highlighted the difficulties associated with repeatedly changing investigation teams.

Earlier, police arrested Hina’s husband, Faisal Asghar, in connection with the alleged murder of the 45-year-old woman. A domestic worker, identified as Zeeshan, was also arrested.

The incident took place at Askari Apartments in Rawalpindi’s Lalkurti area, within the jurisdiction of Civil Lines Police Station. According to the FIR registered on the complaint of Hina’s brother, her body was discovered in the bathroom of the residence.

The FIR alleges that Hina’s hands were tied behind her back, a cloth had been placed in her mouth and a wire was tied around her neck. It further claims that she was subjected to severe torture before her death.

The complaint names her husband, father-in-law and domestic worker in connection with the alleged killing. Hina’s family has also raised suspicions that she may have been given a poisonous substance and alleged that the suspects attempted to portray her death as suicide.

According to her brother’s statement, he received an emergency call from Hina’s father-in-law, Asghar Ali Fayyaz, asking him to reach the residence. He subsequently went there with his father-in-law, Major (retd.) Chan Zeb, where they found Hina dead.

The FIR also alleges that Faisal had previously subjected Hina to domestic violence and mistreatment. It states that this was his second marriage and that his first wife had reportedly obtained a divorce over similar allegations.

Hina married Faisal in November 2025. Police have said evidence was collected from the scene and that all aspects of the case remain under investigation.
