ISLAMABAD: Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has confirmed that Pakistani troops are stationed in Saudi Arabia under the Makkah Agreement.
Speaking to CNN, the DG ISPR said Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have maintained defence ties for decades, with Pakistani personnel serving in the kingdom across different domains.
The development comes after the Makkah Alliance’s Strategic Political and Defence Committee met in Riyadh to discuss threats to Saudi Arabia and regional security.
The committee condemned attacks targeting Makkah, Madinah, Saudi cities, civilians and economic installations, while reaffirming support for Saudi Arabia’s security and territorial integrity.
