At least five people were killed and 16 others injured in a bomb blast at a crowded café in central Damascus on Thursday, according to Syrian state media.
Syrian state television reported that an explosive device had been planted at the café, located near the Palace of Justice in the Syrian capital.
The state news agency SANA, citing the head of Syria’s emergency health services, confirmed the casualty toll.
No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack, and authorities have not released further details as investigations continue.
