The drug safety authority in South Korea announced that it would look into controversial comments by U.S. President Donald Trump, who in recent days proposed that there should be a connection between Tylenol, autism, and vaccines. Medical authorities have dismissed the claims arguing that they are baseless, and have expressing concerns of spreading misinformation. The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety in Seoul announced that it will seek information provided by pharmaceutical companies and international health organizations in order to determine whether such assertions can confuse the general population and harm confidence in vaccination. Authorities emphasized the fact that this review is precautionary, not a support of the statements made by Trump.
