Jarida Report

A rally was held in Muzaffarabad on Wednesday to mark the 10th anniversary of the death of Burhan Muzaffar Wani, drawing leaders of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government officials, refugees from Indian-administered Kashmir and members of civil society.

The procession began at Burhan Muzaffar Wani Chowk and concluded at Alamdar Chowk, with participants carrying Pakistani and AJK flags and chanting slogans in support of Kashmir and against India.

Addressing the gathering, speakers described Wani as “a symbol of the Kashmir freedom movement” and said his legacy continued to inspire many young Kashmiris. They added that July 8 is observed as a “Day of Resistance” across the Line of Control in remembrance of Wani.

Burhan Wani, who was killed on July 8, 2016, at the age of 21, became a prominent figure in the Kashmir conflict. His death triggered widespread protests and a renewed wave of unrest in Indian-administered Kashmir.
