Afghan FM Urges Gradual and Dignified Repatriation of Refugees

Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi has called for the gradual and dignified repatriation of Afghan refugees worldwide, including those in Pakistan and Iran. Addressing diplomats in Kabul, he acknowledged Afghanistan’s limited capacity to absorb a sudden influx of returnees and emphasized the need for international assistance to facilitate their reintegration. Muttaqi also highlighted the recent reopening of the Torkham border crossing with Pakistan, advocating for dialogue to resolve bilateral issues and avoid actions detrimental to citizens of both nations.
