KARACHI: At least one person was killed and six others injured after part of a two-storey building collapsed near New Nazimabad Flyover at Qalandria Chowk.
According to rescue officials, the incident occurred during construction work at a sweet shop located at a street corner. The roof suddenly collapsed, trapping several people beneath the debris.
Rescue teams recovered the body of a man identified as Abdul Bari and pulled six injured individuals from the rubble. The injured were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medical treatment.
Officials confirmed that the collapse occurred while construction work was underway at the shop.
